Victoria Cloyes

This is a fun little challenge I've been working on at home.  The challenge involves me finding a reference image online, and then I give myself 5 hours to create an entire set based on that art, spending no money and only using things found in my apartment at the beginning of the time.  Then, I allocate additional hours to light it and then shoot it.  Lately, I’ve been attempting some stop motion animation in each one, to keep it alive and exciting! <3 

This project was an experiment. I decided to attempt a three dimensional reimagining of a brilliant sketch by Mattias Adolfsson.  It is made out of white vellum, carefully cut and folded and affixed with double stick tape.  There is also a little polycarbonate mixed in there for structural stability.  Ultimately, it was a Very challenging task, but had an interesting final effect. I continue to try and explore modeling that adds a pop-up dimensionality to line art sketches. I still love this building.

This was a diorama I created, based on a painting by Greg "Craola" Simkins.  I've included the painting below, and only attempted a few props instead of all of his fantastic puppets.  One of my favorite projects to date.
