One of my all time favorite projects I've been a part of. I was working along side Brent Johnson and Meaghan Ross to create props based on the art of Greg "Craola" Simkins, a truly inspiring and immensely talented artist. Here are some sets I've had the pleasure of dressing over the years, including some sets from Season 4, recently aired on Amazon Prime! When I try to describe what this show means to me… I run out of words. I’m deeply grateful that I was able to be a part of it all.
I got to work on a super fun Stop Motion version of Adventure Time! The episode is called Bad Jubies, and was written and directed by Kirsten Lepore. Fun Fact: our Tumble Leaf Production Designer Jason Kolowski won an Emmy for our work on it! Super fun. Very, very proud of how this episode fits into the canon of the show, and how well our 3D world successfully reinterpreted the 2D. Go Team! Oh man, how I miss working on these Honda Commercials. I was part of a dream team to be sure. I was working at Shadow Machine with Adam Lawrence, our fantastic Production Designer, building props and sets alongside Lindsey Lee Sulski and Jed Voltz and many others. So, so much fun, to interpret such a nostalgic Christmas style. Enjoy this fun blooper reel from those commercials below, and then take a look at some of the props I got to make!
Here are some of the props I've made for Tumble Leaf over the years. I can remember each one of these things. I can remember the thrill of seeing the sketch on a scrap of paper, the quiet impatience and excitement of knowing exactly how I would be able to tackle it, the frustration in the middle when challenges inevitably arose... the true joy and pride when the thing was conquered and done and handed off to paint. Endlessly grateful that I got to be a part of this show and it’s awe-inspiring collection of artists.
